Travel this Summer With These Budgeting Tips and Tricks

Eleanor Roosevelt once said, “The purpose of life, after all, is to live it, to taste experience to the utmost, to reach out eagerly and without fear for newer and richer experience.”

I have always loved this quote and have tried to experience as much of life as possible, primarily through travel. Through the adventure, rich experiences, and different cultures, I have learned so much about myself and the world that I probably would never have discovered had I not traveled. Regardless of what is happening in your life, I highly encourage you to get out there and explore the wonders of the world (even if it is only an hour away from your home).

For those who are interested in seeing the world, but believe they cannot afford it, there are some great cost effective options to check out. One thing to look in to is volunteering or bartering for a room and board. Some great sites to explore are: WWOOF, Workaday.info and HelpX.

If you are not interested in volunteering ~ not a problem. Hostels are a fun and inexpensive way to travel. In Prague a hostel costs around $10-$15 a night! That is really good considering most hotels rates start at $100 a night.

Another great asset to use when looking to travel on a budget is travel connoisseur, Rick Steves’ who has a great list of Thrifty 50 Travel Tips.

Where have you always wanted to go? Do you have any travel tips?
